Role Overview: Safeguard Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gate Automation Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated gate systems for commercial, and industrial clients. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and test automated gate systems, including motors, controllers, access devices, and related components.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance.

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues in automated gate systems.

• Provide technical support to clients, offering guidance on usage, safety, and maintenance.

• Maintain accurate records of service calls, parts used, and work completed.

• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to deliver seamless service.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines.

• Assist with inventory management of gate automation parts and tools.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics, electrical systems, or a related field preferred.

• Proven experience with automated gate systems or similar technologies.

• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and basic programming for access control devices.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, with the ability to create, edit, and format documents and spreadsheets efficiently. Experience with Bluebeam Revu is preferred.

• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of project management, organization skills, and communication. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take on various duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with major gate automation brands such as Maximum Controls, FAAC, HySecurity, and other national brands.

• Experience with integrating gate systems with access control and security systems.

• Understanding of UL 325 safety standards.

Required Safety Qualifications:

• Ability to pass an extensive background check and obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) – the company will assist with procurement of the TWIC card.

• Pass a drug screen on the hire date, annual drug screen, and random drug screens as required.

• Procure and submit a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for insurance approval from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
